The municipality of Almere has over 214.000 inhabitants and is now in eight place of the ten largest municipalities in the Netherlands. TKH Security offers this municipality, in Almere Stad and Buiten districts, technical solutions for parking management for 19 parking locations.
About Municipality Almere
The municipality of Almere has over 214.000 inhabitants and is now in eight place of the ten largest municipalities in the Netherlands. The municipality has five districts of which two offers paid parking, Almere Stad and Buiten. There are 3,000 parking spaces on the streets and in the parking garages there are another 6,500 parking spaces available. The parking garages in these two districts are owned by the municipality of Almere and are managed by P1/Q-Park.
Start Collaboration
“The collaboration between the municipality of Almere and TKH Security, then called Flexposure, started in 2012. Scanton parking systems and TKH Security won the tender for implementing paid parking in Almere Buiten.”, says Anthonie Dam, Parking Manager at Municipality Almere. “We started by purchasing a Scanton parking management system from TKH Security and they now supply a complete parking management solution, called FlinQ, with video surveillance (VDG Sense), intercom and license plate recognition.”
Filling in our needs
“We got in slowly. We started with local parking management systems, but soon we noticed that there were some interesting options to ensure a good safety and flow at our parking locations. We had a lot of separate parts and we were keen to integrate these, so all reports were received at one central place in the control room. Eventually we also heard about new developments like licence plate recognition. Our starting point is that we always want to give the best service to our customers, the users of our parking locations. It is therefore essential that these users can easily park their car and if something goes wrong, that they are helped as quickly as possible. This contract was recently awarded to TKH Security.”

The advantages of the software and hardware products of TKH Security are that they are easy to integrate and connect, also with products of third parties, such as the parking management systems of Scheidt & Bachmann, which we use at out locations in Almere Stad. Also, TKH Security offers good after sales service in the event of malfunctions. We are always been given the best support possible as quickly as possible. This is very important to us because every minute counts. For us, our customer comes first.”
