Improved Video Management System at the Nürburgring
The Nürburgring is a unique motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It features the Grand Prix track (5.148 km long) built in 1984, and the much longer racetrack “Nordschleife” (20.8 km long) which was built in the 1920s. Besides races, the Nürburgring also hosts various events, such as the annual Rock Festival Rock Am Ring. Together with our partners Aasset and SecuTel, we have provided the Nürburgring with a video management solution on different levels since 2018.
TKH Security has been cooperating with the Nürburgring since 2018. The cooperation between both parties is a perfect example of integration of existing installations in VDG Sense. Operators can choose different roles, such as safety, security and crowd management.
Easy System integration
With TKH Security’s video management system, VDG Sense, you can smoothly integrate a wide range of software and hardware from different brands. All the existing cameras and ‘stand-alone’ recorders from Dahua are integrated in VDG Sense, creating one large central video management system. “The added value of VDG Sense are the very flexible video management and video wall features” explains Dennis Pulver, owner of SecuTel, the security installer at the Nürburgring. “VDG Sense is excellent for a location like the Nürburgring, as it enables us to combine a lot of CCTV systems with analogue technique and IP systems. In the past, we used a wide variety of different systems, with separate software for every department. So, we were not able to use them together. Due to the video management solution offered by TKH Security, we can use the same software for all devices.”
Excellent environment
“The Nürburgring is an excellent environment to use other features of the VDG Sense video management system, not only the security aspect. We have the possibility to connect different systems and work over an IP network. For example, we can manage displays which are used for race controls. The system is great for our live events. Normally, there are ten permanent operators using NVH Series client PC’s. During race events the VDG Sense NVH Series server can be used by up to 20 simultaneous users. The solution offered by TKH Security enables us to only use one large central management system, centralized in their control room. Besides the Nürburgring, also the hotels around the Ring are equipped with TKH Security devices. We are planning on expanding the camera system in the near future.”
