AT&T Enhances Employee Commute with Smart Parking Guidance Technology

Parking Guidance Solutions 03.11.2025

As one of the nation’s largest corporate campuses that continues to grow, AT&T’s Atlanta campus is home to thousands of employees. Each day, these workers navigate a busy commute in some of the worst traffic in the US. To make the journey a little easier, AT&T has selected TKH Security to install the Park Assist Solution, an automated parking guidance system (APGS), across its employee parking facilities.

This project spans two garages totaling 1,705 spaces (1,515 covered and 190 open) and is designed to reduce parking search times by as much as 63%, providing a critical advantage in Atlanta’s traffic-heavy environment, where a few minutes can make all the difference.

As Jeff Sparrow, Director of Sales, North America for TKH Security explains, “Instead of needing to circle slowly through the garage looking for an available space, employees will now simply follow the red or green LED lights above each space alerting them to taken or available spaces, respectively. This will serve to ease congestion inside the parking structure and get employees into the office more efficiently.”

Inside AT&T’s Smart Parking Upgrade

At the core of this installation is the M5 smart-sensor, a camera-based parking management system that provides real-time parking space vacancy status, with 99%+ accuracy, with each sensor monitoring up to six spaces at once from its position above the driving lane. These sensors are paired with the INX-Core software suite, offering powerful analytics and HD monitoring to support smooth operations.

As a key feature for employee and facility safety and security, this project also includes Park Alerts, which uses license plate recognition (LPR) technology to automatically detect and notify operators of:

Unknown visitors attempting to access employee-only areas
Vehicles parked in the wrong zones
VIP or banned vehicles entering the garage
Abandoned cars that may pose safety or logistical concerns

Together, these features ensure the garages remain safe, efficient, and accessible exclusively for AT&T employees.

“Employee parking may not always be glamorous, but it’s one of the most critical touchpoints of the workday,” stated Sparrow. “By implementing the Park Assist Solution, AT&T is showing dedication to its staff by giving them a more reliable, stress-free start and finish to their day while maintaining high standards of safety and control within their facilities. Our TKH Security team is proud to partner with AT&T to bring this employee-focused initiative to life.”

Setting a New Standard for Employee Parking

With this installation, AT&T is demonstrating how smart parking technology can bring meaningful improvements not just to customer-facing environments, but also to the daily experiences of employees in large-scale workplaces.
