The Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital (ETZ) in Tilburg/Waalwijk is a large, specialised clinical care teaching hospital with an extensive range of specialist healthcare. The hospital serves a coverage area of almost half a million inhabitants. When several ORs had to be adapted, this had to include security innovations. A project in such complicated and costly surroundings is always tense even though all risks have been covered in advance.
Reliable
Erwin Vromans at ETZ and Stijn Jansma at the preferred installer Hoppenbrouwers, found reliability, quality, and predictability to be important criteria when selecting the supplier and the iProtect system. The OR areas had to be implemented phased while the ORs continued to operate, and which were not allowed to be disrupted. A time-critical mission in which one easily falls back on trusted parties.

Safety requirements
We delivered the very innovative Commend Cleanroom intercom system for the hospital’s newly equipped OR. It involved 35 intercom units with self-sterilizing fronts and music dissemination. In this way, the higher efficiency and security requirements have been met.
Cooperation
We’ve tested the system ‘live’ to eliminate as many risks as possible. In this case, cooperation with the ICT department at the hospital was vital and this was perceived as being very good. This ensured that the whole system could successfully be installed as a ‘Plug & Play’ in all ORs.
