TKH Security has recently updated the VDG Sense software. The new release, version 2.6.8, offers some exciting new features and further improvements of existing functionalities.
With the release of VDG Sense 2.6.8 some architectural changes are made. This means there is no backward compatibility with previous versions of VDG Sense. Clients and servers with a software version prior to 2.6.8 are not able to connect to a server running 2.6.8 software version.
This release offers you some exciting new features:
Change user passwords within the application
The ‘User Management’ and ‘Device Groups’ tabs have been modified. It is now possible to change user passwords within the application and not via the web.
Faster authentication via API
This affects IOS, Android, VDG Sense Webpage, and third-party integrations.
Camera Edge Recording
In addition to our already existing Edge Server solution we have now added the option to synchronize video data from an SD card in a camera or encoder with the VDG Sense server video database after a network connection failure has been restored. The edge recording is compliant with ONVIF Profile G standard.
Privacy Mask for TKH Security Solutions driver
The Privacy Mask setting allows the user to configure a Privacy Mask in the video stream of the camera. Please note that because this privacy mask is set in the camera, the mask will be visible in live mode as well as in the recordings. The tab ‘Privacy Mask’ will become visible if VDG Sense supports remote privacy mask configuration for the selected camera.
Selectable stream for video content analytics (VCA)
In case multiple streams from a camera are available, it is now possible to select a stream for recording and separately select a stream for VDG Sense server-based video content analytics. In many situations, VCA does not require the highest possible resolution to work reliably. This reduces the required calculation power from the server’s processor (s) thus enabling the option to use more simultaneous server-based VCA channels.
Stream settings in the devices tab
For the TKH Security Solution and the Hikvision camera driver, it is now possible to change the video settings for all supported streams.
Triple streaming support
For selected TKH Security Solution and Hikvision cameras, triple streaming is now supported. This means VDG Sense can use a third stream for either recording, live viewing, or VCA.
Furthermore, Herta and Briefcam integration are temporarily disabled. If you are using, or intend to use, one of these integrations, please do not upgrade to 2.6.8 as we are working on a re-introduction in one of the next updates. Please contact our Service & Support department for assistance:
