Research & Development Interview: Standing out with our disruptive technology
What was your Role in Project ATLAS?
As R&D Manager, I was the founder of ATLAS and had overall responsibility for the entire development team and product strategy. From the beginning I was the bridge between our team, stakeholders, partners, and management – responsible for setting up the new self-organising team and implementing the Agile processes.
Once this was realized, my role changed to Business Owner with focus on the market and release strategy of the proposition.
How is ATLAS different (Idea and technology wise from what’s out there?)
ATLAS is our access control system as a service which allows Employees, System Administrators and Visitors to manage building access. Its simplicity and seamless user experience comes from its complete integration with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID!
Simplicity, usability, and scalability are the fundaments of the product β and we really believe that weβve created a unique solution that aligns with the challenges, trends and technological demands of the modern workforce – for today and tomorrow.
We call it simply β access at hand.
Where do you see ATLAS fitting? Any standout industry?
There is a significant need for ATLAS in modern offices, multi-tenant buildings, universities, and co-working spaces to be able to manage user access and invite visitors through mobile, without the need for system admin assistance. Of course, itβs not just limited to these environments. The world is changing rapidly, and along with technological advancements, new trends, and the influence that COVID-19 has left, digital transformation is taking place everywhere.
What was key for you in overcoming the challenges in the project?
A good team spirit built on trust and respect. Providing a safe and inspiring environment for the individual to learn by allowing them to make mistakes and explore their talents supported by a solid Agile process. This way of work enabled innovation within the team which resulted in overcoming all the challenges we faced during the developments of the product.
What was your favourite moment/achievement within the project?
My favourite moment was the presentation of the 2021 Christmas Proof of Concept. That was the first moment that we showed the company our new platform and the way it works. How we presented it was completely new in our company and we really showed our innovative capabilities there.
